After a day at work and having your game face on for 8 hours you could be going through withdrawal  from the day.  Not just the normal tiredness but a need for some one thing to grab your attention.

The familiar road

Most people follow the familiar road:  The cell phone.  The designers have made it very easy to navigate.  It is programmed to go to your familiar hangouts which are often time-wasting and ungodly.

The buzz

But we think we need to stop the buzz in our mind.  Paul talks about his thorn or buzz in Romans 7:18 ‘For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.’

God’s viewpoint

When you get home, turn off the phone for the evening.  Find different activities that are attention-holding.  Ask the Holy Spirit to change your focus.  He will remove the ‘thorn.’  Don’t be a slave to your sin.  Instead listen to God in Romans 8:6:  ‘The mind of a sinful person is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirt is life and PEACE.’
