Going numb in a marriage is a defensive maneuver to protect us from emotional abuse (name your flavor). Going numb generally protects us from having to reinvest in the relationship since we have turned the corner against it. Turning the corner means we have emotionally given up because everything we have tried has not worked. Try this: Ask God to remove the mountain in your life, the other person or the situation. Matthew 21:21 ‘If you say to this mountain…’ God will answer this prayer one way or another.
